Elisa Lam Conspiracy Theory by Luis Mugartegui

Many college students travel around the world alone hoping to not get into a situation like Elisa Lam. There are multiple conspiracies about the death of this young college student.

Conspiracy theories :
  1. Elisa Lam committed suicide.
  2. 2. Elisa Lam was murdered by the government.
  3. Elisa Lam was murdered by the ghost of serial killer.

Elisa’s death remains a mystery so let’s explore the different conspiracy theories about her death.

Elisa Lam was an odd woman; she attended college at the University of British Columbia, but she wasn’t registered in the beginning of 2013 (Trace Evidence-039-the mysterious death of Elisa Lam 1). She suffered with depression and was also bipolar (1). The footage from the elevator showed some signs of a psychotic episode, which could have resulted in her death (1). This episode was not Elisa’s first; she had been prescribed with medication for her past manic episodes (1). She had a relapse in the begging of her semester and had to drop a couple of classes.

Elisa was removed from the room she was staying at, due to her behavior (1). She was on and off with her spouse around the time of her death (1). Elisa had said, “I feel so lucky that I met such a wonderful, awesome guy. He makes what pain and anger I felt meaningless. He understands my humor and has such beautiful intelligent eyes. What broken heart? Why would I ever think of killing myself” (Perto 1). Lam showed signs of being quite odd showing another side of herself.

Elisa was also known to be a bright individual; she was smart, talented and had a huge future ahead of herself. She traveled and loved to explore (Trace Evidence-039-the mysterious death of Elisa Lam 1). She had a passion for designing dresses and was very social and outgoing (1). Her cleverness also had its downside due to a post she had posted about some government information (1). Elisa was a friendly person and liked to read books (1). The parents of Elisa Lam always got a call from her every night that she spent in L.A, until her disappearance (1). While she was in California, she had visited the zoo. Her friend Ristea said, "This is the last person I expect out of all my friends to have something like this happen to her" (Nair 1). Elisa’s death took her family and friends and left them wondering what may have led her to her death.

Elisa was melancholyshe was depressed and didn’t have the best of luck (Trace Evidence-039-the mysterious death of Elisa Lam 1). She had only been taking a few classes and felt very stressed; her relapses were causing her setbacks and she needed time for herself (1). For this reason, she had decided to take the trip to California by herself in late January of 2013 (1). Elisa had said, “It is a weariness that keeps me at a standstill,” (Petro 1). She was going through a midnight crisis and felt all alone.

Elisa Lam was known for not only her social media web page but also for her mysterious circumstances of death. Elisa was born on April 30th,1991 in Vancouver, Canada; she attended school at the University of British Columbia. She suffered with depression and, also had a bipolar disorder. Many of her friends described her as a smart and talented individual. She had manic episodes and needed to take some time off from school. She had decided to take a trip to California alone.

Conspiracy #1

Elisa Lam committed suicide. It was said that Elisa traveled alone and was staying at the Cecil Hotel, now known as the Stay on Main Hotel in Los Angeles. She was assigned to share a room with two roommates, who later had her removed due to her odd behavior. She was moved to a room on one of the upper levels of the hotel where she stayed alone. Her parents didn’t think it was a good idea for her to travel alone due to her bipolar; Elisa would call her parents to keep them informed about her and when she had stopped, they knew something was wrong.

She was pronounced missing January 31, 2013, and a missing person report was put out. The last person that had seen Elisa Lam in person was a librarian. She had explained how Elisa was buying gifts for back home. The only sight of her after that is a footage of her entering an elevator and acting strange. She had looked like she was hiding from someone. Elisa showed signs of having a manic episode, which could have been the resulted of her death. She was a young girl who had many things going on in her life and needed time to herself. Traveling to Los Angeles alone was a huge mistake due to her bipolar disorder and depression. This information could be the reason behind the theory of her committing suicide.
Conspiracy #2

Elisa Lam was murdered. While Elisa was staying in California, she had made a post online involving the Pentagon funding project which is ran by the government; for that, reason it could have been the government who sent someone to murder her. There was an individual who had been in the area around the time of her death that was a part of the government. This man had been working for the “Invisible Light Agency”. Some other people believe that the elevator was tampered with because the elevator door didn’t seem to close when she was in there waiting for the door to shut.

There was also a large outbreak after her death. The name of the test employ was called LAM-ELISA. Elissa was found naked on the top of the Cecil Hotel inside a water tank with her belongings. The only way she could have access the top of the roof was with a key; if she would have opened the door it would have set an alarm off. The top of the lid would have been too heavy for her to open by herself.

Conspiracy #3

Elisa Lam was murdered by a serial killer. Richard Ramirez was a known serial killer that had murdered many innocent people in the L.A. area; including inside the Cecil Hotel. Some individuals believe that he still haunts the hotel. He was known as, “the night stalker”. He was sentenced for death row for more than 20 years but, died from B-cell lymphoma. This strange theory could be the solution to Elisa’s death.

From all the information that was gathered from this conspiracy, the belief is that while she was having a manic episode, she committed suicide. She did have plans of going home because a local librarian told a news reporter that she was buying gifts to take back home to her family. The librarian also stated that she didn’t seem to be acting strange. In the footage of the elevator you can see that Elisa was acting a little odd.  Elisa was stressed and depressed and felt like she would never find a way out.

Committing suicide was her only option of her way out. It makes sense but, some things could be questioned; like when Elisa Lam’s body was found floating in a water tank with her clothes inside. There are so many what if’s that could be ask about her death. My second belief would have to be that the government sent someone to murder her. Elisa had made a comment about some governmental information over the internet and the government saw that. It was believed that there was a man that was working with the government at the building at that time. The footage from the video was said to have been tampered with.

What People Thought
A survey of the conspiracy of Elisa Lam received some graet feedback. There was 40% of people asked that had thought she was murdered, while the other 40% thought she committed suicide. Some of the reasons had been similar like to the ones of my beliefs. The other 20% thought differently. The people who thought differently thought that the ghost of a serial killer was still haunting the Cecil Hotel and made her kill herself.
Others thought that she was killed by the elevator game. The last and strange theory is that she was killed by some of the people in the hotel and that they tampered with the video to hide the evidence. It was said that if the top doors for the top of the roof where opened, that it would send a sound downstairs to the front desk to notify that the doors where opened. This is some of the reasons why people had different beliefs. The views from the beliefs gave e a good view point.

The Closing Statement
The mysterious death of Elisa Lam remains unsolved until more evidence is provided. She had Elisa Lam was a normal college student who was just trying to get away from her problems. She was dealing with some mental issues and wanted to get away. The conspiracies of her death help get a picture of what may have happened, but there is not enough proof to prove what exactly happened.

Did the most famous sex symbol overdose and commit suicide due to her prescribed depression medication or did somebody hire a hit man on poor Marilyn. Since her death many, conspiracies have arisen.

1.      Killed by the Mafia.
2.      Robert Kennedy killed Marilyn Monroe for knowing “Too Much”.
3.      Suicide.
4.       Marilyn still alive.

We are going to dive into these different conspiracies and into Marilyn’s life to see what happened.

Character Analysis

Marilyn Monroe AKA “Norma Jeane Mortenson” was known to be a very amorous woman. Also, the young woman was a very lustful and sexual woman. Monroe had an amorous relationship with Bobby and John F Kennedy. She was sexual in movies; that’s why she was getting called a famous sex symbol (HOMICIDE?). Even though Marilyn knew people thought about her in that way, she still was positive and herself.

Marilyn was American’s most famous sex symbol. At taking on these roles in movies that made her look sexy and pretty. After some minor parts in films, including “The Asphalt Jungle” and “all about Eve”, Monroe began to make a name for herself as a “Sex symbol”. She became one of the most popular sex symbols of the 1950’s. Monroe’s sense of fashion was very sexual, “unforgettable looks during the 1950s an era of Peter Pan collars, poodle skirts and repressed sexuality Marilyn’s ability to spot up-and-coming designers made her a fashion visionary” (Marilyn Monroe Star, Sex Symbol, Fashion Icon).

Monroe was also brave; she had to go through problems that some people never knew she went through, Marilyn was strong at heart; she was brave going through her divorcees and miscarriages. Marilyn always had a smile on her face even though it hurt. But she fought through the pain. Monroe was sexually abused at a young age and adult age: “She publicly disclosed the sexual abuse she experienced during her childhood and adulthood– a shocking confession, especially at the time (It was a brave, feminist act). It was a brave, feminist act. She didn’t hide during a time when our society held to the ideas that abuse rarely occurred and if it did, blamed the victim” (7 Sensational Things Marilyn Monroe Can Teach Us About Feminism).

The blonde bombshell was a beautiful young woman, a blue-eyed, blonde headed woman. She had an extreme hourglass shape. Monroe was 5’6 and 120 pounds. People clamed Marilyn was a thick woman: “Some say Marilyn Monroe was a large “Plus Sized” woman, her personal clothing items tell a different story” (Marilyn Monroe’s True Size). People thought Marilyn Monroe was fat, but she was not a fat woman. Her clothes and the sizes of her sensual clothes gave us proof that she was not a fat woman. Marilyn Monroe dress size was a size 12 but also “While these documents suggest that her weight was a constant 117-120lbs, she was actually much heavier during the late 1950s, for example, the Some Like It Hot premiere on March 29, 1959 (below).  Some have speculated she weighed close to 140lbs at this point” (Marilyn Monroe’s True Size).

Conspiracy
The first conspiracy theory suggests that Marilyn Monroe was assassinated by the Mafia. Monroes killer was either Jimmy Hoffa or Chicago's Mafia boss Sam Giancana. Monroe see to have a romantic relationship with henchman Johnny Roselli according to biographer (Darwin Porter). Sam said that Marilyn was “Threating to blow the lid off his operations” ( Porter). The boss Sam wanted the blonde bombshell to seduce powerful men that the mobster wanted to blackmail (Porter). Giancana said that “A lot of people had a lot to lose if Marilyn spoke out” he also said, “She was making a lot of dangerous statements and did not know who she was messing with” (Porter). Believes five Mafia hit men were responsible for her murder on the order of Giancana, using a washcloth drenched in chloroform, then stripping Monroe and giving her a barbiturate enema (Porter). A twist fall into place (Porter) posts it also could have been JFK or Robert Kenndy that had hired the mobster to get rid of Marilyn Monroe (4 conspiracy theories about the death of Marilyn Monroe). This conspiracy was popular also, we have all this information about the Mafia killing Marilyn but there is no evidence against the mafia and Sam Giancana that can support this conspiracy.

The second conspiracy theory suggest that Marilyn was killed by Robert Kennedy for knowing too much. Bobby Kennedy got involved in a messy affair with Marilyn in the summer of 1962 when he was sent out to Los Angeles by his brother Jack to convince the screen goddess to stop calling the President at the White House. The President was not going to divorce Jackie and marry her. But Bobby fell under her spell and slipped into the bedroom with Marilyn. 'It wasn’t Bobby’s intention, but that evening they became lovers and spent the night in our guest bedroom’, Peter Lawford later revealed. (Caroline Howe). Monroe’s death was not suicide but a murder. Bobby Kennedy to silence her as she was about to revel all the dirty Kennedy family secrets that Marilyn kept in logged in her little red diary (Howe). However, Bobby Kennedy did not act alone. He had co-conspirators in her murder his brother in law, actor Peter Lawford and Marilyn’s psychiatrist Dr. Greenson to “take care” of Marilyn (Howe). Almost immediately the affair got very heavy, and they began seeing a lot of each other Lawford said (Howe).
Marilyn shifted her attentions to Bobby and started calling the Department of Justice to get the Attorney General on the phone. She was now madly in love with Bobby, who had promised to marry her and leave Ethel, Lawford said, despite the Kennedy brothers passing her around like a football and making her feel like a piece of meat.
But when Bobby began to pull away, Marilyn threatened Bobby with a press conference where she would reveal her illicit affairs with Jack and Bobby and all the dangerous secrets she knew about the Kennedys and had written in the little red diary she kept hidden (Howe). Bobby demanded to know where the diary was. “We have to know”, he screamed at her, claim the authors. Marilyn was not going to give it up (Howe). However, we have more information about the Kennedys and her Dr. And Peter in this article (EXCLUSIVE - Bobby Kennedy ordered Marilyn Monroe's murder by lethal injection to prevent her from revealing her torrid affairs with RFK and JFK: New book sensationally claims to have finally solved the mystery surrounding her death). These accusations of the Kennedys killing Marilyn they were never accountable for Marilyn's death.

The third conspiracy theory is that Marilyn Monroe in fact did commit suicide. The police initially called it an accident, the coroner said, it was a suicide and conspiracy theorists say it was a murder. But what is the truth behind the death of Marilyn Monroe (Gina Dimuro). Monroe was recognizable even to people who never seen one of her movies (Dimuro). On august 5, 1962 at the age of 36 (Dimuro). They still were rumors and theories coming that she may have been murdered. Marilyn's housekeeper Eunice Murray slept at the movies star house in Los Angeles on the night of August 5, 1962 (Dimuro). Eunice Murray were up at 3am to still see Marilyn Monroes light on in her room and she was concerned (Dimuro). Eunice found out that Marilyn's door was locked, she called Monroe's psychiatrist Greenson to come and Dr Greenson broke that window and he climbed through (Dimuro). Dr.Greenson found hollywoods biggest star naked under the sheets and clutching the telephone (Dimuro). When Greenson was in the room he calmly called out to Eunice and said, “she appears to be dead” (Dimuro). Monroe's bedside table was contained myriad of medicine bottles (Dimuro). Dr.Hymen Engelberg pronounced her deceased then Engelberg called the police at 4:30am (Dimuro). Monroes body was taken to los angels that same day the toxicology report which came back later that night (Dimuro). Hymen said that Marilyn's blood contained a sleeping pill chloral hydrate and her liver showed presence of barbiturate Nembutal it reveals that it was a much higher than a fatal dose (Dimuro). The pills had been ingested within a short period of time (Dimuro). This conspiracy is the one everybody believes that happened that she actually committed suicide.

The fourth conspiracy is that Marilyn Monroe is still alive. John Alexander Baker, author of Marilyn Monroe: Alive in 1984? He believes Monroe stayed at an institution for 20yrs (Jim Mitchell). Being recognized, before being released and according to the book outline baker says he picked up a hitchhiker in Nova Scotia in 1984 who he claimed to be Monroe a homeless, frighten paranoid schizophrenic (Mitchell). Marilyn told Baker that she was a former movie start and baker was taken by her resemblance to Monroe as well as a similarity to her singing (Mitchell). Did Marilyn fake her own death. However, this conspiracy remains the most less conspiracy theory of them all.

Did Marilyn Monroe commit suicide or is she still alive or did Robert Kennedy killed her or did the mafia kill her it's still a mystery about the former star. They say she committed suicide but it's hard for people to believe that she would do that. It's been 57 years since Marilyn died and all these conspiracies are going around, and pictures have surfaced the internet now. The most likely for her death is Robert Kennedy and Peter Lawford and her Dr. Marilyn shocked the world

JFK Assassination Planned? By Isabella Askew-Garcia

Born May 29, 1917, in Brookline, Massachusetts, was John Fitzgerald Kennedy (JFK) who was nicknamed Jack. He was one of the oldest siblings out of nine (“John F. Kennedy” 1). He was an intelligent young boy and later became a handsome, well-educated man. Kennedy attended Harvard University and later became a Navy Seal (1). At that time, Kennedy would have never known that he would serve in the House of Representatives, become a U.S. Senator or achieve the role of the 35th president of the United States of America.

Following his father’s leadership, Kennedy was a fierce competitor throughout his life. He was such a competitor that his sister Eunice said “That’s the only thing Jack gets really emotional about - when he loses” (“John F. Kennedy” 1). Even as a child, Kennedy fought through various health battles. As a young boy, “He was also chronically ill during his childhood and adolescence; he suffered from severe colds, the flu, scarlet fever and even more severe, undiagnosed diseases that forced him to miss months of school at a time and occasionally brought him to the brink of death” (1). He forced his way through these sicknesses. Kennedy later joined the Navy Seals after graduating from Harvard University. During his journey as a Navy Seal, Kennedy was put in command of a patrol torpedo that later was struck by a Japanese warship. Kennedy survived the wreck with a badly injured back along with other crew members; unfortunately, two of the sailors lost their lives. Although Kennedy’s back was injured, he managed to guide the other survivors to shore where they were rescued six days later. Kennedy’s fierce attitude and strong mind, and with the help of his father’s teachings, is why Kennedy was able to overcome many obstacles in his life.
John F. Kennedy was also an intelligent and motivated being. After being discharged from the Navy at the age of twenty-nine, Kennedy decided to live on his late brother’s legacy for his family. Kennedy won his election for a seat in the House of Representatives. Although Kennedy served three terms, he claimed that “Nobody paid attention to us nationally” (“John F. Kennedy” 1). Kennedy became bored with his job because he was simply too intelligent for that life style. Being the fierce man that he was, Kennedy “challenged Republican incumbent Henry Cabot Lodge for his seat in the U.S. Senate”, which Kennedy also won (1). Kennedy first showed his interest in controversial topics as a Harvard student when he wrote and explained his opinion “on why Britain was so unprepared to fight Germany in World War II” (1) :
An incisive analysis of Britain’s failures to meet the Nazi challenge, the paper was so well-received that upon Kennedy’s graduation in 1940 it was published as book, Why England Slept, selling more than 80,000 copies. Kennedy’s father sent him a cablegram in the Aftermath of the book’s publication: “Two things I always knew about you one that you are smart two that you are a swell guy love dad.” (1)
Throughout his career, Kennedy gained constant support from his family and the American people. Because of his attitude and the way he carried himself, Kennedy had an advantage during the presidential election. This was one of the first elections to be aired on television; before this, elections were only heard on the radio. Although Kennedy was younger than Nixon by only a couple of years, his appearance was much more appealing than Nixon’s. Nixon refused to wear make-up claiming that it was only for women while Kennedy gladly wore it, which made him look more attractive. Many people believe that it was this reason that Kennedy won the election, simply because his appearance was better looking.
Conspiracy #1 Who shot JFK?
Many people that attended the motorcade in Dallas, Texas, on November 22, 1963, witnessed the assassination of the 35th president, John F. Kennedy. Kennedy was shot in his neck and head from behind, while in the backseat of a car. The shots were believed to come from the sixth floor of The Texas School Book Depository. Throughout the crowd and massive chaos, there was one man in particular that looked suspicious to a police officer. That man was Lee Harvey Oswald. Oswald was spotted walking very fast and was stopped by a police man while fleeing the assassination scene. When confronted by the police officer, Oswald shot him with a hand gun and ran into a nearby movie theater to hide (Beyond JFK 1). There were people that witnessed this and Oswald was arrested inside the movie theater, at the time only for shooting the officer. As the investigation continued, it was determined that Oswald had in fact worked at the building where the shots had supposedly come from. The gun that was responsible for Kennedy’s death was also found in this building (1). The Dallas police, along with other investigators, decided that this was enough evidence to charge Lee Harvey Oswald with the murder of John F. Kennedy. Oswald was interrogated for more than twelve hours, with virtually no real evidence to prove that he was the assassin. There were no ties between the gun used to kill Kennedy and Oswald (1). There are many allegations that Oswald wasn’t the shooter, or if he was, he did not act alone. Although no one saw where the shots came from, many witnesses swear to have heard the shots come from behind the grassy knoll (1). In the footage of President Kennedy being shot, one can clearly see that his head and body fall backward. Here is where the suspicion starts to take place. Physics and common sense would tell anyone, that if someone were to be shot from behind, then their body would naturally fall forward. It would not make sense for Kennedy’s body to fall backwards if he was shot from behind. However, what would make sense is Kennedy being shot from the front. This could be a possibility if the witnesses that say they heard the shots from the grassy knoll were true. At the time and placement that Kennedy was shot, the grassy knoll was in front of the vehicle.  For the people that claim the shots came from somewhere else, they were hushed by the government who swore that they were only hearing echoes of the original shots (1). The reason behind this is because the gun that was found was a very old and cheap gun. Kennedy was shot twice. There have been many experiments testing to see if it was possible for that type of gun to be fired so quickly (1). No one has been able to cock and fire that gun in the same amount of time the government says the shots were fired. A survey was conducted, and the majority believed that this was the most plausible theory.
Conspiracy #2 Was there a cover-up?
This conspiracy has many factors to it. As said in the first conspiracy, there was no record of Oswald’s interrogation kept. There was also a “lack of finger prints to link him to the crime” and “the evidence against Oswald was never presented in court” (Beyond JFK 1). In the documentary Beyond JFK, many people close to the investigation were interviewed. Ken O’Donnell and Dave Powers told former Speaker of the House, Tip O’Neil that “the FBI persuaded them to change their eyewitness testimony, which placed the fatal shot as coming from the grassy knoll,” and the FBI told them “let’s get this behind us, you’re wrong, there had been an echo, that was an echo you heard both of you and Dave were wrong in this” (1). If this statement is true, this could prove that there was some type of cover-up being constructed. This documentary says that any medical questions regarding Kennedy’s autopsy were ignored. The government had made it very clear on who they knew killed Kennedy and how. What they never answered was why.
Before he could go to trial, Oswald was shot and killed by a man named Jack Ruby. There has been rumors of Oswald and Ruby knowing each other, and even possibly being involved with the CIA (1). Keep in mind that none of these statements have been proven to be true. Another reason for the public to believe that there was a cover-up was because “many witnesses were never called” (1). Not only were they not called, but more than a handful suddenly died. Approximately twenty-two witnesses died before testifying, most of them from gunshot injuries. This lead the American people to believe that the government was killing off witnesses to cover more evidence. In the movie Beyond JFK, they interviewed many important people including, people of the House, Oswald’s wife, and some people that were even involved with the investigation (1). One can question that if this documentary crew could get ahold of a great deal of important people and interview them, why did it seem so difficult for the government to do so? The government can possibly do anything and tell the people exactly what they want the people to know and not get in trouble for it. If the government tried so hard to cover-up Kennedy’s assassination, then they must’ve known who really killed him.

Conspiracy #3 CIA & Lyndon
This last theory involves Lyndon B. Johnson and the Central Intelligence Agency. During Kennedy’s presidency, the Bay of Pigs Invasion of Cuba in 1961 was a very controversial topic. This invasion was planned and conducted by the CIA and the Eisenhower Administration (Beyond JFK 1). Some say that Kennedy was publicly supporting this invasion, while secretly planning to back out of it. Kennedy did not want to be involved in this war at all. That is where Kennedy and Johnson bumped heads. From the very beginning, Kennedy and Johnson had very different views about certain situations. This made it difficult for them to work together as a team of President and Vice President. Johnson did not agree with Kennedy’s beliefs at all. No more than two hours after President Kennedy was murdered, Johnson was already pushing the office and press to get him sworn in as the new President of the United States of America (1). Although the assassination required Johnson to be sworn in, people thought it was odd for him to be insistent on the matter.
The situation gets even more interesting when evaluating documents that were signed during Kennedy’s Presidency. Kennedy signed a Memorandum on October 11, 1963 that states he was going to withdraw 1,000 military personnel by the end of 1963 (John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum 1). Kennedy also mentioned and made clear that there were to be no formal announcement of his plan to withdraw. Johnson took advantage of this when, four days after the assassination of Kennedy, he made modest changes to Kennedy’s version of the Memorandum No. 263 (1). Johnson signed the National Security Action Memorandum No. 273, on November, 1963 (Office of the Historian). The memorandum stated that the objective of the United States is to continue with assisting the South Vietnam people. The outcome of the war was to help South Vietnam win their battle against the Communist Conspiracy. Almost a year later, Johnson signed National Security Action Memorandum No. 288 that was directed to the top men in the government and military. The memorandum states “All agencies concerned are directed to proceed energetically with the execution” (Discover LBJ). This document proves how pressed Johnson was to have the American soldiers fight. Because of Johnson’s actions shortly after the death of Kennedy, many people suspected that he played a role in the assassination. These documents could be evidence to support the American peoples’ suspicion. It is the duty of the Vice President to support and provide advice for the President. However, in this situation, Johnson betrayed Kennedy by changing the memorandum and going against Kennedy’s word.
In conclusion, the best theory that supports the mystery of Kennedy’s assassination is conspiracy number two. With little to no evidence, the government was adamant on who killed and how they killed Kennedy. The American peoples’ questions and opinions were completely ignored by the government. To this day, there are many questions and conspiracies on the death of President Kennedy.
