People
still remember this day with all the shocking and confused feelings they had
when they first heard the news. Everyone was scared for their lives and the
lives of their loved ones; as many people sat at home watching the real life
streams in their televisions. It was not until later when everyone began asking
more questions about the attack, but no one would answer them; Therefore, it
started many conspiracy theories about whether the government and president set
up the attack to not pay China back?, if the hijacked planes actually hit the
twin towers, or bombs caused the buildings to collapse?, And the real
explanation of the demolition behind the untouched building 7 at the World
Trade Center.

Silverstein is a very selfish person. He is the “president and chief executive
of Silverstein Properties, which acquired the World Trade Center just weeks
before the September 11 attacks”(VIVIAN MARINO). His Manhattan based real
estate development and investment firm has developed, owned and managed 35
million square feet of office, residential, hotel and retail space (Silverstein
Properties). “Months before 9/11 the world trade center’s lease was privatized
and sold to Larry Silverstein. Silverstein took out an insurance plan that
fortuitously covered terrorism. After 9/11 Silverstein took the insurance
company to court, claiming he should be paid double, arguing that there were
two separate attacks”(Dr.Kevin Barrett, Lasha Darkmoon). His claim was
successful and managed to claim approximately $4.6 billion. Psychologists say
that a selfish person is “someone who does not value other people; and can care
for nothing but their own ends” (Ifat Glassman). Larry A. Silverstein is an
example of a selfish person because on the day of the terrorist attacks he got
a call from the fire department telling him that everyone in the World Trade
Center would not make it alive so instead of making a decision to keep fighting
he told the fire department they “had such terrible loss of life, may be the
smartest thing to do is, is pull it” (Dr.kevin Barrett, Lasha Darkmoon). He did
not even touch his heart to think about people’s life and only thought about
how it will affect him financially.
Nine-eleven has been a very controversial subject to Americans
since the minute it happened. In the terrorist attack that happened on
September 11, 2001, many theories were created after the attack. For example:
1. Whether the
government set up the attack to not pay china back
2. If booms and not
the hijacked planes made the twin tower collapse
3. The falling of
untouched building 7 at the WTC
The first conspiracy theory, stated whether the government and
president set up the attack to not pay China back. “Seventy-five top professors
and scientist …believe people in the oil industry, along with Presidents Bush,
puppeteer the events to secure oil reserves. It is claimed that they arranged a
“stand down of the air-force for the event” (the top ten 9/11 conspiracy
theories). The president wanted no one to ruin his plan. He had the videos set
up after the attack, many people think those videos are fake due to
“Osama bin Laden denied any involvement with the attacks” at the
beginning but “soon afterward numerous tapes came out claiming he changed his
mind and took full responsibility” (the 11 most compelling 9/11 conspiracy
theories). How can someone just change their mind in a matter of hours?
Another conspiracy
theory claimed that bombs and not the hijacked planes actually made the twin
towers collapse. “Many pictures were leaked after the explosion stating that
the videos about the attack were edit, so that planes were recorded hitting the
twin towers when actually there was bombs in the basements”(the 11 most
compelling 9/11 conspiracy theories). If one airline is out of their
destination, the people in charge of the airports have to report everything
that goes wrong or looks bad. The hijackers “managed to breach security check
points and personnel” (Alycia B. Taylor, CPO and Sara Steedman). Not even the CIA or FBI managed to stop them.
There are theories that “the CIA was kept informed of the attack by AL-Qaeda
and blocked FBI investigations, by saying they would stop it before it happed
but then allowed it “(The top ten 9/11 conspiracy theories).Others “argue that
the CIA was directly involved and point
to reports of explosions in different parts of the towers, and that WTC
Building 7,which had CIA offices in it, was demolished; by an attempt to
destroy evidence of the Centre of operations for the Twin Towers attack next
door” (The top ten 9/11 conspiracy theories).
The last
conspiracy theory was; how did the World Trade Center Building 7 got demolished
if no hijacked airplane hit it? This theory basically adds up both of the other
conspiracy theories; the government had to do with the attacks and bombs being
planted in both buildings to destroy it to make it seem like terrorist attacked
the United States. There was no way this
building could have been demolished if “the building was never caught fire; so
it was never in any danger of collapse. It was also constructed differently,
with a web column design. The interior columns were not pushed out to the
perimeter” (debunking 9/11 conspiracy theories). The conspiracy theory stated
the bombs were place in the bottom of the building and that the reporters knew
that the building was going to collapse. A video of “someone from MSNBC was
captured saying “what we’ve been fearing all afternoon has finally happen” as
the building collapsed” (debunking 9/11 conspiracy theories). It is obvious
they knew ahead of time, and the reporter said the line before the collapse actually
happened. What’s worse it was caught on camera.
After doing research about what really happened on September 11,
2001, there was a lot of twist and turns about who was responsible for the
attacks. Three main conspiracies developed after the terrorist attack were:
1. Whether the
government set up the attack to pay China back
2. If booms made the
twin towers collapse and not the hijacked planes
3. The collapsed of
the untouched building 7 at the WTC
It was and still is a big tragedy that impacted everyone in
America. Today, nine years after this attack happened no one knows who was
behind the attack. Was it the government or al-Qaeda? The answer still remains
a mystery.
