Sandy Hook Hoax by Diana Espinoza

Sandy Hook Hoax?
The Sandy Hook shooting occurred December 14, 2012, in Newton, a small town of Connecticut (Fogel, Horwitz, Fahrenthold). A lone gun-man entered the elementary school killing 20 children and 6 adults (Conspiracy Theorist). You may ask, why would the killing of innocent children be a hoax? Here are the facts and the motive behind this “staged crime” Asperger Syndrome:

  1.  Motive for more gun control.
  2.  Unknown man running in woods.
  3.  Facebook pages.
  4.  Weapon confusion
  5.  Ryan’s ID on Adam Lanza (Conspiracy Theorist)

 Character Analysis
Adam Lanza from Newton, Connecticut, had a troubled life. At the age of 2, Adam was referred to special education preschool services for communication difficulties, socialization delays and repetitive behavior (Katersky, Kim). Although starting the 4th grade, things changed, and he left, the special services because he met all speech goals (1).
Adams parents Nancy Lanza and Peter Lanza separated in 2002 when Adam was starting 5th grade (Katersky and Kim). That year is when things started to significantly get worse. Friends and family of the Lanza’s knew that Adam had a type of autism called Asperger Syndrome (Newton’s Killers Obsessions). As an external conflict, he was being bullied and picked on which eventually lead him to drop out of school in the 10th grade (Newton’s Killers Obsessions).
Lanza loved video games and had a friend he would regularly play or go watch movies with (Katersky and Kim). They also would have deep conversations often bring up mental illness and serial killers (1). In June, 2012, the friends had a dispute over a movie and had fallen out with no contact (1). Do you think this could be a reason for Adam to be depressed and committed the crime?
While Adam had constant contact with weapons, Jack Levin a professor of sociology and criminology at Northeastern University commented he believes they do not shed light on a motive for the crime (Klienfield, Rivera and Kovaleski). He also stated that in many school shootings the shooters have been bullied or ostracized by their class mates (1). Lanza was both bullied and excluded from school because of his mental illness and social isolation (1). Adam’s troubled life may have had an impact on his decision to commit the crime.

 Evidence
There is one main conspiracy surrounding the Sandy Hook elementary shooting, being that it is a hoax to bring legislation for higher gun control. In this essay, you will see the evidence that makes some believe it was a hoax. Evidence one is there was a live video of a man running away from police behind the Sandy Hook Elementary, but the video was never aired again (Levin, Eddie). If there was said to only be one shooter, why was there someone running away from the school with a weapon? The man was apprehended and later news surfaced that he was a hunter, one of the children’s father or that he was a SWAT off duty tactical officer. They could all be cover ups from different people that are really trying to hide his identity. If he was a hunter, what is he doing so close to a school full of kids? If the man was a SWAT officer, why would he be running away from police? Last, if he was one of the children’s father, he is innocent, so why run away from police? Could this mysterious man possibly be Adam Lanza escaping?
The second supporting evidence, is that there are many Facebook pages made for the school shooting days before the initial shooting. Many are funding and support for those who were affected by the shooting. Some pages include “Sandy Hook School Support Fund”, “Sandy Hook Victims Fund”, and “Fundraiser for Families Involved in Tragic Newton CT Shootings” (Ewoyn). One in particular is made for a Sandy Hook school girl by the name of Emily Parker, a fan page was made for her hours before the massacre (Levin). Why would you make a fan page for your daughter while she’s in school lock down and her condition is unknown (Levin). If the shooting was real, why would people make Facebook pages days or hours before it actually happened? It would only make sense that this was staged a planned for months and maybe years before the actual massacre.
A third piece of evidence that is very confusing. Moments after the massacre, a man by the name of Ryan Lanza was named the shooter (Staff, Star-Ledger). Ryan Lanza is the actual shooter Adam Lanza’s brother, whom haven’t had any contact since 2010 (Stuart, Hunter)! The confusion started when Ryan Lanza’s ID was found on Adam Lanza’s dead body (1). If the biological brothers haven’t had any contact in a couple of years how would’ve Adam possessed the ID? Could it possibly have been Ryan who committed the crime?
The last piece of evidence is the one that proves most of the facts are not adding up. The medical examiner, Dr. H Wayne Carver II, states in a press conference that the rifle was used in the shooting (Levin, Eddie). After searching Adam Lanza’s vehicle, the rifle was found in the trunk of the car (1). If the children and teachers were killed by the rifle and the shooter shot himself inside Sandy Hook Elementary, how did the rifle end up in the trunk of the vehicle? There is a lot more questions left unanswered, but also a lot of chilling evidence that supports the shooting was a hoax, but it’s up to you to decide. Could the government possible create something to evil too bring about gun control legislation?

 Conclusion
The Sandy Hook shooting occurred December 14, 2012, in Newton, a small town of Connecticut (Fogel, Horwitz, Fahrenthold). The lone gun-man, entered the elementary school killing 20 children and 6 adults (Conspiracy Theorist). You may ask, why would the killing of innocent children be a hoax? (Conspiracy Theorist). After reviewing the back ground on Adam Lanzas life, and going into detail on some of the evidence supporting the hoax:

  1.  Asperger Syndrome
  2.  Motive for more gun control
  3.  Unknown man running in woods
  4.  Facebook Pages
  5.  Weapon confusion
  6.  Ryan’s ID on Adam Lanza

Given Adam Lanza’s back ground, and all of the evidence presented, what do you believe happened? Could this be an evil plan from the government for gun control? Or, is this really a tragic event?
