Imagine that one day one of your family members or one of your best friends claimed aboard a plane that would never reach its destination. The Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 went missing with a total of 239 people that vanished with it (Devlin).
Some say the plane turned invisible, the Boeing 777 was cyber
hijacked by terrorist, the pilot planned and carried out a mass suicide, but no
matter how you twist and turn it the fact is that on March 8, 2014 flight MH370
disappear and took human lives with it (Devein) (Golson). Some may say some of
these theories are far-fetched, but who knows?
One of the people on Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 was Zaharie Ahmad Shah, he was one of the main people being invested (Wise). Why? Because he was the man behind the wheel at the time of the crash. Zaharie was the pilot of the Boeing 777 on the day the plane went missing. Many people speculate that he had a suicide plot while others believe the plane's disappearance was an unfortunate result of the best efforts of the pilot.
Zaharie was a 56 year old man that was born on July 31, 1961.He was a veteran pilot with 18,000 logged flight hours, making him a master at flying. From the way his family and friends described him ,he was known as a family man and a loving father, so it seemed out of character when he started to Shun his family in the period leading up to the flight(Who Are the Pilots of Flight MH370?).
Externally Zaharie is seen as a good professional pilot, that’s passionate about his job. His also seen as a mentor to younger pilots and admired by other pilots, A colleague even said ",A very nice guy, passionate about aviation, and among the community of pilots, one of the most respected,"(“Who Are the Pilots of Flight MH370?”).Even people who don’t even know him can see why he traveled off course with some saying that it would be wise to find the closest airport if there was a cockpit fire or some other unknown emergency that took place on the flight (Goodfellow).
To his family he was seen as a kind, helpful man. His sister, Sakinab, tells us “I want the world to know here is a loving man who will stop at nothing to render help when it is needed,” (Holmes) (Meldrum-Hanna).If he is a loving kind man then how could he possibly kill 239 people on purpose? His brother in law, Mr. Khan, said "If he wanted to [commit] suicide he wouldn't - [why] he would want to kill 238 people with him? Why would he be so stupid? He is not.” and Zaharie’s son, Ahmad Seth, says "I know my father better." In response to the suicide conspiracy against his father (Meldrum-Hanna) (“Who Are the Pilots of Flight MH370”). Saying this shows that it would be so out of character for Zaharie to commit suicide, especially with the risk of other people’s lives that his close family can’t even think about him doing such a thing.
During the investigation they found out that Zaharie Had an in home flight simulator (Almasy). After some time they found that the flight simulator had a similar course that was taken when the plane went off course (Almasy).Could this be pre-plotted murder? It’s easy to think so. Zaharie like many geeks eat, sleep and breathe their passion. So it’s not out of the ordinary that a pilot would want to bring his work home with him or just have his simulator around for some much needed practice. Under any other circumstance we would prefer that our pilots know there route like the back of their hand ,so u can’t blame a “Aviation geek” for wanting to get in the extra practice (Meldrum-Hanna).
Internally the days leading up to take off Zaharie were a wreck. There were reports saying that his family moved out days before the flight and he was in the middle of getting a divorce with his wife that he’s been with for 30 years (“He-wasnt-father-I-knew-He-lost-disturbed-Daughter-MH370-pilot-raises-alarming-new-questions-state-mind-weeks-planes-disappearance”).His daughter even said that the days leading up to the flight that “He wasn’t the father I knew. He seemed disturbed and lost in a world of his own”(“He-wasnt-father-I-knew-He-lost-disturbed-Daughter-MH370-pilot-raises-alarming-new-questions-state-mind-weeks-planes-disappearance”).Could this be a type of depression, that would lead to the fate of many? Friends and family think not. Zaharie’s brother in law says “He had a good life. He had a lot of money, and he loved his daughter very much." (Meldrum-Hanna). Also his sister said “Simply put, the suicide story is but another story. My brother loved life; he loved his lifestyle, period”(Holmes). So why would he commit suicide if he loved life so much?
Maybe this wasn’t a sign of depression, but type of introvert? People of every kind have A level of introvert and in certain situations a person could lean more to the introvert side in effect to the world around them. Introverts tend to shut down went the world seems to be falling apart and with the divorce happening he would be under the right conditions to separate family and work causing him to devote more time into his passion and less into his family, just like your typical introvert. Was he depressed? No, he was not because if he was during the time of his divorce he would also stop doing things he loves to do like DIY projects and playing with his flight simulator. According to his brother in law, Mr. Khan, the day before he went on the plane he was doing DIY projects around the house. Does this sound like a man who within a couple hours would commit suicide (Meldrum-Hanna)? No, No it doesn’t, why would he be fixing house that he doesn’t plan on coming back to? In addition to there was no suicide note and no possible way to know if the demise of the Boe 777 was pre planned or not.
With the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines flight 370 many theories have appeared. Some of the most popular conspiracy theories are: the plane turned invisible, the Boe 777 was cyber hijacked by terrorist, the pilot planned and carried out a mass suicide.
The first conspiracy has to do with evil terrorists attacking the plane through different methods. The first method is turning the plane invisible. Some may not believe in invisible cloaks and believe it’s just for quirky entertainment in the movie industry, but is it possible that the jet that apparently disintegrated midflight could actually have turn invisible(20 Passengers From Missing Malaysia Flight Were DOD Employees Involved In Electronic Warfare & Weapons That Can)? Through war technology they have made it possible to jam communications and shut down security system to allow the plane to not be detected on radar (20 Passengers From Missing Malaysia Flight Were DOD Employees Involved In Electronic Warfare & Weapons That Can). There are four people that are investigated that are believed to be terrorist using fake or stolen passports could these be the terrorist responsible (20 Passengers From Missing Malaysia Flight Were DOD Employees Involved In Electronic Warfare & Weapons That Can)?
The next theory suggests that the plane was hacked, by terrorists using a phone or a remote control device. The plane could have been hacked through the Entertainment systems then flown to the ground by remote (Winter). After the attack, the prime minister even confirmed that “the plane's disappearing was a result of a deliberate act”. (Winter)In addition, Dr. Leivesley also told the Sunday Express: “There appears to be an element of planning from someone with a very sophisticated systems engineering understanding,” and “This is a very early version of what I would call a smart plane, a fly-by-wire aircraft controlled by electronic signals” (Winter). It would work by sending codes, from mobile phone, would override the aircraft’s security software granting access to the control system.
The third theory is that the pilot had a suicide plot leading him to end his life and the life of all the passengers (Who Are the Pilots of Flight MH370). The family believes that such a loving man couldn’t possibly do such a thing (Meldrum). But the proof is that the captain, Zaharie Ahmad Shah, had a in-home flight simulator that outlined the route similar to the one that the plane could have taken, steering into the ocean (Italiano) The hard drive of the simulator was found and all the data was deleted. Could this have been because it would show that the captain was conducting “suicide test runs” (Italiano)? They recovered six deleted “data points” from the simulator. The points revealed the plane's altitude, direction, location and speed. It also showed that the plane departed from Kuala Lumpur just like the real one, but it traveled over the ocean to the point of the fuel would run out and the plane would sink into the ocean (Italiano). Could this possibly be the case for the real MH370?
With the disappearance of flight MH730, many theories came to being like the theory about: the plane turned invisible, the Boe 777 was cyber hijacked by terrorist, and the pilot planned and carried out a mass suicide. We can’t prove the theories to be true, so we may never know what happened to flight MH370.
